#eosinophilic #esophagitis( not every dysphagia is achalasia despite typical manometry and barium swallow studies)
A 29-year-old woman presented with recurrent epigastric pain and dysphagia. Previous upper endoscopy revealed h pylori gastritis. Barium swallow was consistent with achalasia. High-resolution manometry was compatible with achalasia type II. The current endoscopy showed competent cardia with pangastric erythematous mottling. Biopsies were taken from the lower esophagus revealing eosinophilic esophagitis.
