A 60-year-old man who presented with upper GI variceal bleeding was admitted to the hospital. the patient underwent upper digestive endoscopy. the scope revealed esophageal varices. Also, the scope showed the major# and minor duodenal papilla# and whitish duodenal mucosa#. QUESTIONS: Is it mandatory to examine the major and minor duodenal papillae during routine upper digestive endoscopy? In other words, is the upper digestive endoscopy complete without an examination of major and minor duodenal papillae?
