A 65-year-old man presented with a massive attack of upper GI bleeding in the form of melena. The patient was admitted to the ICU and resuscitation was done. Upper GI endoscopy revealed esophageal varices with white nipple sign. Band ligation was done with the improvement of the patient condition. The patient was discharged from the hospital two days after the endoscopy
