Excessive mucus in the stomach and duodenum( the missed thing in the endoscopic report)

A 31-year-old man presented with epigastric pain, heartburn and vomiting. The patient underwent upper digestive endoscopy. The scope showed incompetent lower esophageal sphincter and vigorous gastric peristalsis. The patient gave a history of proton pump inhibitor intake 7 years ago. There is an excessive amount of secretions in the stomach (whitish color). The patient was fasting for 12 hours. Is there medical importance for these secretions? What is the composition of the secretions? Should the endoscopist describe the gastric secretions in the endoscopy report? Is there any clinical research regarding these secretions?
