Don't wait until it is too late

A 56-year-old woman presented with anemia. The work-up for anemia was done and revealed microcytic hypochromic anemia. Colonoscopy was done, and it was normal. The patient was advised to do an upper GI endoscopy, but the patient refused, and she lost to follow up for up to 6 months. The patient came back with an attack of severe anemia. This time an upper GI endoscopy revealed a huge gastric mass at the fundus (large polypoid mass). Intermittent narrow-band imaging(NBI) was done during the procedure.

Histopathological examination revealed gastric adenocarcinoma.
