A 28 -year -old woman presented with severe epigastric pain and vomiting. The patient gave a history of chronic epigastric pain, and the patient sought medical advice several times with the prescription of antacids and proton pump inhibitors like omeprazole but without improvement. Upper GI endoscopy # showed acute erosive gastritis # with ulcerations and petechial hemorrhage (ulcero- hemorrhagic gastritis #). You can notice the severity of inflammation in the fundal region in comparison to the pyloric area.
DEFINITIONS:
Erosive gastritis is gastric mucosal erosion caused by damage to mucosal defenses. It is typically acute, manifesting with bleeding, but may be subacute or chronic with few or no symptoms.
