A 58-year-old woman presented with
epigastric pain and discomfort was admitted to the endoscopy unit. The patient
underwent multislice computed tomography that showed a mass arising from the
posterior wall of the stomach measuring 35×26
mm, it appeared well defined, hypodense with homogenous soft tissue density. The
surrounding fat planes are clear. The patient underwent upper digestive
endoscopy. The scope revealed a globular polypoid mass protruding from the
posterior wall of the stomach just beneath the gastroesophageal junction. There
is an ulcer over the tip of the polyp (highly suggestive of GIST#).
What is your opinion?
1- Biopsy using the gastroscope.
2- Biopsy using endoscopic ultrasound.
3- Endoscopic resection using EMR#.
4- Endoscopic resection using submucosal dissection.
5- Surgery.
6- Two of the above are true.
